Fear: The enemy of success.

There was a time when fear shadowed every aspect of my life—fear of failure, rejection, criticism, and especially change.

We all face fear, but it affects us all differently. While some people can easily handle it, others get really scared and stuck. I was afraid of failure, rejection, criticism, judgement, abandonment. I used to let fear hold me back a lot, especially when things didn’t go as planned. Fear was like a shadow that followed me all the time. It affected every choice I made, big or small.   Someone even started calling me “Much Afraid” to show how much fear was controlling me.

“But then, something changed. I began taking the reins of my   emotions, determined to conquer my fears.

One of the most pivoting moments in my life regarding fear is when i realized that FEAR is a liar. It’s not based on reality, rather it is a perception of reality. Fear is not a fact, but it is a feeling. Fear is not a force, but it is a choice.

So, it’s up to me on how things are going to pan out for me. I can choose to allow fear stop me dead in my tracks, or I could choose to overcome fear and move forward. I could choose to curl up in a corner and be a victim of fear, or I could rise above and be a victor of fear.

I began a journey of self- challenge. The path wasn’t smooth, and at times, ‘faking it until making it’ became my mantra. Yet, through this process, I came to realize that: fear was not indicative of weakness, but rather, an opportunity formy growth. With each new challenge, I proved to myself how strong I really was, surpassing my expectations. Before long, I had transformed into ‘Much Brave,’ more capable than I had ever imagined.”

It might seem like the nickname “Much Afraid” is about being scared, but I believe it really shows bravery. When you deal with what scares you, you learn a lot about yourself. What’s really brave is using that fear as a chance to grow and become stronger.

Fear doesn’t have the power to tell you “You can’t,” unless you concede that power. Instead, it is an invitation to say, “I can,” to step into your best potential and fulfill your purpose that God has set especially for you.

Face your fear. Challenge it and prove it wrong. Do things that scare you until they do not scare you anymore. Take small steps forward every day, keep your eyes on the goal. Learn from failures and don’t give up on them.

You have the power to overcome fear and achieve anything you set your mind to. You have the strength, courage, determination, resilience to overcome and succeed. You have everything you need within you!
